ABOUT CREATIVE COWLs
Art has been a major part of my life. Beginning with fine arts to illustration, branding and graphic design, it has always offered me a great opportunity for expression. This journey has now led me to fiber design. I have found this medium exciting, and full of artistic explorations and options.
Some more about my background: I founded Lerner Design Group, a graphic design company after gaining experience as a designer and art director at several fortune 500 companies, educational institutions, and publishing firms. Additionally, I taught design to college and graduate students at NYU as well as other colleges in NYC/NJ. Working with an eclectic and diverse client list, I created print, digital/social media, communication strategies and thoughtful visual solutions. I have been honored to receive numerous design industry awards. I am a graduate of the LaGuardia School of the Arts, a BFA from the School of Visual Arts, and my MA from New York University, in Graphic Communications Management & Technology.
And now, my palette has evolved to fiber and I have applied my design sense to this new medium. I am drawn to unique fibers from all over the world, in endless colorways, and those that offer different textures, and with that, I create one-of-a-kind bold artwear. The layering of my fibers create a 3-dimensional visual within each piece giving special thought and consideration to the integration of these various elements. Many of my pieces include hand painted stick pins that add an additional element and special finish to each.
